Christmas Party Menu 2015
Starters
Smoked salmon roulade filled with mascarpone cream cheese, spring onions, lemon juice, zest and dill. Served with dressed baby salad leaves and wholemeal bread with butter on the side
Ravioli dello Chef
Home-made ravioli filled with braised beef, tossed in a touch of butter with fresh sage and Parmesan cheese
Tartine di Pesce
Crab and cod fish cakes dusted in flour, pan-fried and served with Chef’s spicy tomato sauce
Zuppa di Minestrone
Made by the chef, our own homemade chunky vegetable soup served with thin strands of pasta and finished with Parmesan cheese and a touch of butter
Pasticcino
Filo pastry parcel filled with slow cooked duck and spring onions, baked in the oven and served with rocket leaves, finished with a drizzle of balsamic reduction
Fungho con Ricotta
Portobello mushroom filled with a mixture of fresh ricotta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and Parmesan cheese, baked in the oven, garnished with rocket leaves and drizzled with Chef’s Mediterranean pesto
Mains
Traditional roast turkey with chef’s family recipe stuffing, roasted potatoes and vegetables of the day
Pescespada con Caponata
Loin of swordfish marinated in olive oil, lemon juice and fresh rosemary, char-grilled and served on a bed of caponata (roasted aubergine, olives, onions, celery, capers, pine kernels, fresh tomatoes, garlic and red wine vinegar). Accompanied with cubetti potatoes and vegetables of the day
Pollo Italiana
Corn fed chicken supreme pan-roasted with Tuscan sausage, chestnut mushrooms, celery and carrots in a rich red wine sauce. Served with creamy mashed potatoes and broccoli florets
Maiale all Forno
Loin of pork marinated in white wine, Worcester sauce, tabasco, garlic, red paprika, white wine vinegar and olive oil then slow-braised in the oven. Served with sautéed potatoes and vegetables of the day
Crespelle
Savoury pancake filled with Mediterranean vegetables and crumbled salted ricotta cheese, finished with a tomato and cream sauce, dusted with Parmesan cheese and baked in the oven
Orata con Mango
Fillets of gilt bream pan-fried in a touch of olive oil, served with a mango, avocado, chilli, lime juice and zest, spring onion and coriander salsa. Accompanied with cubetti potatoes and vegetables of the day
Desserts
Tiramisu
Sponge fingers soaked in espresso coffee and rum, topped with a layer of zabaglione, fresh cream and mascarpone cream cheese and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder
Cheesecake
A sumptuous cheesecake of the day set on a digestive biscuit base
Panettone
Bread and butter pudding served with chef’s own custard
